MIG/MAG/FCW welding involves feeding a small diameter wire over considerable distances.
Not an easy task and one which can be fraught with problems. Reliable and precise
wire feed is in fact the key to the success of the semi-automatic welding process.
The Murex Transmatic is the undisputed market leader in wire feeders. Proven high
precision 2 or 4 roll wire drive mechanics in combination with rugged and powerful
Electrolux motors provide positive and consistent wire feed.
Operating from safe
extra low voltage 42Vac supplies the electronic speed control provides accurate
and reproducable feed speed as well as facilities like inching, gas purging, 2
or 4 stroke torch switch modes and pre/post flow functions. As a further refinement,
Murex recently incorporated selectable wire acceleration, giving improved arc
starting performance for aluminium and flux cored wires.
The Lynx 4EHD model has
been designed for use with the Transmig 413S and 513S electronic controlled industrial
MIG power sources. In place of the spot weld control the 4EHD provides electronic
voltage control and remote sensing facilities specifically for the 413S and 513S
machines.
The casework design of all the Transmatics has also been remodelled
to provide improved operator access and visibility of the drive mechanics and
internal control facilities. The top of the feeders is radiused and the access
door hinges upwards. As a further improvement the burn-back control is brought
out onto the internal divider panel eliminating the need to “go hunt the
screwdriver”!
The MUREX Transmatic Lynx Wire Feed Units are available in three models:
- Lynx 2 - use 0.8 - 1.6mm wire diameters
- Lynx 4HD - use 0.8 - 2.0mm wire diameters
- Lynx 4EHD - use 0.8 - 2.4mm wire diameters or 3.2mm with modification
